Exactly. Yet another excuse for people to stereotype cops.

Incidentally, this particular detail didn't really get much mention in this thread, but the three lying cops who falsified evidence apparently shot each other.

They had to keep the criminals from escaping.

Man, don't say things like that. It took ten minutes for the twitching to stop.

A quick Google search on police brutality will yield myriad reasons to stereotype cops. A quick Google search on the bad behavior of any subgroup in the world will yield reasons to stereotype that group.

Fact is, I blame the no knock warrant for this. I blame the PATRIOT Act and the numerous other pieces of legislation passed on the 80's (the other War on nonsense - the War on Drugs) and 90's (organized crime legislation.)

We live in a guilty until proven innocent society now. Unless civilians act to get control over the security forces in the US, it will only get worse.

Yeah, because thats who we should be focusing on. Not, oh say the woman who was murdered or her grieving family, but people who had utterly nothing to do with this who might look bad by distant association.

Had you seen the old title you'd understand all the "bantering".

i saw it. it's fixed now. there's still bantering.

Gah! If it bothers you, stop contributing to it.

like people ever stop contributing because they don't like something here.

True, but if you had something to say and knew what bantering meant, people might give you less shit.

She actually works in a police precinct. I think she can be forgiven for having a professional concern in the matter.

When you make the majority of the population a criminal in some way (drug laws, speeding, etc), you breed animosity and fear towards police, and reduce the population's overall respect for the law

As punishment, these officers should be placed in a home and shot at 37 times by three other officers serving a falsified no-knock warrant.

To be completely fair, they should wait until the guilty are over 90 years old, really scared and alone. So the fear factor is accurate and all.

The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Is there any doubt this woman's Fourth Amendment rights were trampled and spat upon? Not to mention her right to live. There should be no such thing as a "no knock" warrant in a free society. I hope that if convicted, these scum bags suffer in prison for a very long time.

They fired 39 shots, five of six striking the woman and killing her

Ummmm... Now I'm no mathemagician... But what the fuck kind of logic is that?

So did one shot miss?

Or did 34 shots miss?

Did she get shot six times, but killed five times?!

Like come on!

I don't fucking get this...

It's simple. Five out of every six of the thirty-nine shots struck her, meaning that all you have to do is divide thirty-nine by six and multiply that number by five.

She was shot and killed thirty-two-and-a-half times.
