When a British reporter suggested Bush was denying even to himself how bad things are, the president tartly replied, "It's bad in Iraq. That help?"

The only thing you left out was that after Bush said this he laughed. Like it was a joke. To hear it is quite disturbing.

What do you expect from an academy washout? Not that ex-school teachers, housewives, and bourgeois lawyers... er... I mean "democrats" are going to be any better.

Out with the old status quo! And in with the... uh... other status quo. Damn.

Can't. I'm still struggling through One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. The pictures help though.

Yeah, but it took me years to realize that "Hop on pop" wasn't some sort of cartoon pedophilia book.

"Now I know he told you that it would be such fun. Just point on the Grinch where he touched you, son."

That news conference was terrifying. Bush gets his ass handed to him by a reporter (finally) and he creacks a joke that makes him seem even worse. Everyone just sort of stared at him.

You've got to admit Bush (or whoever the hell writes what comes out of his mouth) is a master at creating moral panic and FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) in the idiots of America. Hand him a fact and he has this remarkable way of wiping it aside, as though he were nothing but teflon, and jumping straight into a different, more urgent issue. It's scary to watch him do it and even scarier to watch people fall for it.

Most con artists are very adept at this. It's hard to corner them. When you try to nail them with a fact they wiggle around it and zero in on something else.
