Hm... I assume you mean Italians?

I think there's still a bias there, but also a lack of candidates. There are so few Italians that want to run for office anyway. In New York, there are Italians all over... in Local Offices.

They can't run in "red" states because they're Catholics ("We don't cotton to Mary-worshippers and Mafiosi *Spit*") and the only Italian they're familiar with is Chef Boyardee. They can't run in "Blue" states because they're either Too Damn severe (like Giuliani, who really has no "Moderate" appeal, and only won in NYC because of antipathy to Dinkins-style City Democrats) or because there's a more "Electable" Irishman around.

Pelosi doesn't want to be President, anyway -not yet. The first viable woman Candidate is going to be Senator Clinton.

What I want to see is an openly atheist Candidate. I don't agree with Bernard Sanders seeing as how he's a socialist, but you have to respect someone who doesn't sing Hossanas and Hallelujahs for votes.

I wouldnt really mind an atheist, but more importantly I would want a candidate who can openly defy the Christian Right (Ideally I want an issue to come up and reporters start asking about how the Christian Right would feel, only to have this ideal candidate look right in the camera and say "FUCK the Christian right." not as a snipe or insult, but as a way of saying "Im not gonna let them influence any desicion I make in Office".)

No. I meant anyone with a vowel at the end of their names. Like Nancy Pelosi or Barack Obama. I wasn't specifying any particular race or ethnicity.

Well, I put the "Ass" in assume biggrin

And now it's obvious. Most Northern European names end in consonants, and on top of that, every president is from northern europe -the closest to a minority was Kennedy, being a Catholic.

puke well, that's depressing.

And that Y isn't even a full time vowel. It's like a half-breed.

Fun fact of the day: the letter Y has a wikipedia entry. I never knew.

Dude here's the order in which we will elect a President who comes from a group of people that has never had a President come from their group:

1) Vowel ending people.
2) A black guy.
3) A woman.

I would bet any amount of money I have that a brown skinned man of either Latin, African or Caribbean ancestry, will be elected President before a woman will.

Nancy Pelosi is one of the richest members of congress.

Her net worth is placed at over 55 milion dollars.

She owns resturants, hotels and a vinyard....all non union.

You people are extremely gullible if you think that she is on your side.

It's a real shame that the Democratic party is actually run by rich Republican sympathizers.

No, rich people can speak liberal speak.

That proves them to be hypocrites.

Do you really agree that Nancy Pelosi is right to have all of her buisnesses non-union?

Because if you do I can give you the contact info for several unions that would disagree with you.

You are a dupe of the Democratic Party machine.

It's a shame that you don't have the intellectual capacity to see that.

Hysterical.

A) Cite your claims. I'm not taking your word for shit.
B) One can be a Democrat and not be pro-union. Not every Democrat agrees with every part of the party platform. Just like not every Republican agrees with every part of the Republican platform.
C) There is absolutely, positively NOTHING hypocritical about being a rich Democrat. Just as there is absolutely NOTHING hypocritical about being a poor Republican. You see, politics (just like life) is not a black-and-white thing. I understand that subtlety might be tough for some people to grasp, but do try.
D) Don't challenge my intellectual capacity. You don't know who you're talking to.
E) This entire argument, that Pelosi is somehow "too rich" to be a real Dem is logically fallacious. Specifically, it's an ad hominem, not to mention a red herring in this context. Grow up, stop assuming that everyone who disagrees with you is dumber than you, and learn how to construct an argument that is logically relevant to the subject of the discussion. Then come back and talk to me about being a dupe.
