Very true, but it is not always the case. And of course when he looks away I can always shoot him take my money back and leave him dead on the ground as an unsolved murder. You would rather hve no chance of protection at all. Also kind of taking those out of context would you not say?

Sooo... speaking of context, can you explain to me how you jumped from self defense to murder without blinking a fucking eye. I don't give a fuck if you did just get mugged. If your wallet is worth more than a persons life you are no better than the person who would mug you at gun point.
After all you spouting about "law abiding citizens" in this thread, for you to imply that murder might be an ok option is amazing. If nothing else, it is why you lose this debate. You Sir, do not get to have any kind of gun you want.

Read the post of the person above me, I was simply going along with what he posted. smile

That being said, I would never want to live in a country where only the security forces have are allowed to have guns. Real deterrent or no, the right to own guns speaks, on basic level about who owns the country and the government - the people - and reinforces that it is the people's right to replace any government that does not meet their needs - violently if necessary.

It's a nice idea that I don't think works out practically.

Well, but you see that is the point - it is an idea. Some would say - indeed the current executive administration would say - that the Constitution isn't "work[ing] out practically." However as an idea, it has great power and people stand behind it. People on these boards like to say that I am a "liberal" but I am really a conservative at heart - I wish to preserve the Constitution and the rights afforded me under it - all of them.

Distributing guns isn't as neat and tidy a concept as simply evening out power by making sure everyone's got one. I think we'd probably both agree that an ideal society is a trillion miles away from that kind of metaphorical mexican standoff, anyway.

Me, I'm under no illusions about the voice and power that I have as an ethnic minority in England. And while I'm pretty god-damned aggreived about a thousand or so government policies - as long as I'm not allowed a gun, the guy next door to me isn't allowed a gun and your average bobby on the beat isn't allowed a gun - I can live with UK gun laws.

I would fully support gun laws that took guns away from everyone - including the security forces. Bottom line for me though is that, as long as the security forces feel that they can justify the need for guns - I can too.

Gasoline bombs are your best bet.

Which makes your point about guns...how?

When they exit the burning tank, you shoot them wink

And let us not forget the 50. Cal, it probably can't dent a tank but it can pass into an APC wink

Just as a side note Gasoline burns to fast and does not have very adequate consistency for such purposes (has a tendency to run off of target). It does good to mix with Motor Oil and Sugar to thicken up. This is a Molotov Cocktail. wink

They're looking for un-registered assault weapons.

How are they law abiding gun owners if they aren't abiding by gun registration laws?

They aren't however I am curious where they are getting the probable cause for the search warrents.

Search warrants must be approved by a neutral magistrate and must be based on probable cause. If the search warrant is not based on probable cause, then any evidence siezed as a result of it is fruit of the poisonous tree and is generally excluded.

Dude, when you talk like the lawyer that you are..it makes my pants tight. I'm waiting for the Law and Order narrative and little clink clink sound when you talk now smile

They had a series of Law and Order commercials last year, and some of the cast called it the Doink Doink.

I am so fucking pathetic.
