I agree, but there are modern protestant religions such as Unitarianism, the United Church of Christ, and more... that are very progressive and treat women as absolute equals, there's also Reform Judaism that is just as modern. There is no such Islamic sect.

This sounds like it's very destructive to the psyche of muslim women. You would never feel trusted by your husband. The only consolation would be a feeling of half-security at being covered up. Furthermore I find the idea of rape as a punishment (or just rape in general) sadistic and very disturbing. People who feel that strongly about their religion should be gender seperated to betterserve their faith. They can't just declare themselves not subject to laws as part of some religion alowing you to abuse your fellow man. I would hope rape is a crime everywhere...
