You don't think that the Dems will go for an impeachment? If any president in our history deserves to have his ass hung out to dry its George W Bush.
Nancy Pelosi has already said it's not on the table. Good thinking on her part.
What kinds of crimes would you have them try him for?
There's been a fair bit of painting outside the legal lines by this administration, but nothing even close to the stuff Nixon did. Lying to the U.N. and the American public is a shameful thing to do. It's not currently against the law to my knowledge.
It won't likely stick, it'll just get us Pres. Cheney, and if anything would make Bush and the Republicans look better for 2008, impeachment would be it.
Did I mention that once you have two consecutive Presidents face impeachment it will basically become par for the course?
Americans disliked what Clinton's Republican Congress did. Not necessarily because they loved Clinton so much, but because of how politically motivated it all seemed. They couldn't get him on Whitewater or anything else they investigated him for, so they went for Perjury and Obstruction of Justice. Mainly because they'd kind of set that up by asking him questions no politician could honestly answer in his position.
Getting a blowjob was what it seemed like he was being impeached for. Lying about a blowjob seemed like a smallish thing to hit impeachment for.

i'm pretty on the line about who should be in power...on one hand, you have repubs letting big business run rampant and fucking us from the private sector...and on the other, you have dems that promote more government that usually fucks us in the public sector...i hope this change is for the better.
Uh, you remember the deficit, right? You know, the one that the Republican-controlled government let spiral out of control after being steadily improved on? And you are, of course, aware that the size of the government has increased under Bush and his rubber-stamp Republican-controlled Congress at rates not seen since FDR's New Deal, aren't you?
The Republicans have been fucking us in both the public and private sector for the last 6 years, and the first thing the Democrats want to do is un-fuck some of that and set up the very same pay-as-you-go approach to budgeting that real fiscal conservatives favor.
Tax-and-spend-big-government my ass.
that's why i'm hoping it's for the better...i've been traditionally conservative but it seems the republicans are wearing two hats the past 5 years. it just makes me drift further left by the day
I'm glad there is now a bit more balance in D.C. now. I do not trust any politician, ever. When one party is given too much power, dems or pubs, abuses happen. Having division of power keeps one party from seizing control completely and stealing our government. That is important. So, yay, the power is divided some more.
But this is not sports, this is politics. The whole 'My party's the winner, your party's the loser' mentality towards elections makes us all losers. Partisan bickering is, in and of itself, part of the problem.
