Man. Killer robots never work out, do they?

I have to admit to being somewhat ambivalent about it myself, though. I mean yes, it'll be sad to see my species slaughtered like vermin. But on the other hand, we'll be replaced by killer robots, and how cool is that?

okay, okay. so, say I put my brain in a robot body and there's a war. robots versus humans. what side am i on?

Just think, depending on societal restrictions, you could have ANY body you wanted.

funny I was JUST talking to a guy tonight at my cigar shop who works , well I'm not sure who exactly for. He's associated remotely with the Navy base here but I think he works for Raytheon or something.

Anyway, he was tell us about something nearly JUST like this .

Except that the ones they are working on are mobile and networked. If one detects a target they all track and coordinate the attack to neutralize the target.

BIG creepy.

I know he's legit.
At least his job is.
He maaybe coulda been bullshitting
but I don't think so.

And if this is the sort of stuff he can talk freely about I reeeeally wonder whats goin down in the back room, ya know ?

Well, there was a USA Today article about it.

Their robot is packing 5.5 mm and thinks it shouldn't shoot everybody. Our robot has the M2 .50 cal and tries to kill everything. Ours wins.

I hope these robots have more than one leg. Otherwise, we're in trouble.

This became a Slashdot subculture in-joke when it was mentioned over a year ago, similar to "In Soviet Russia...", welcoming ovelords, and three steps to profit.

Whoa. !
crazy.
I think thats another one all together. Closer to what he's working on though.
His gizmo, def had a smaller gun. I think he said a 5. something cartdridge.
Think what was the most eerie was the way he talked about them being autonomous and working in groups.
