Feel The Pain

Ahhh...so The Daily Show delivers once again on the self-serving of mainstream America. I just saw a somewhat scathing bit which detailed how -- instead of feeling the effects of the Israeli war in or hearts or in our minds -- the media listed the real effect to the American people as "...feeling it at the pump." because...yeah; that's how it really feels to America. I wonder how much of this "suggestion" will actually rend people's hearts & minds to a lump of coal?

"Sometimes...when it's really quiet...you can hear the pump screaming."

Im watching it right now..... fucking brilliant.... sad fact is its true.

Not many people give a crap about the conflict in the Middle East until they feel the pinch at the pump, myself included.

Looks like we'll be invading another country full of oil soon.

My boss is Israeli and goes back from time to time. He was just there two weeks ago. His wife came back this morning and two of their four kids are there right now. The funny thing is how the American's speak to him about his home country. They always seem amazed that he ever goes back: "Aren't you scared of begin bombed?". He explains that it's not as bad as it seems on TV. granted, Israel is a small country, but not the entire country is getting hit right now. The whole point of terror is not destruction, but a method to impose a state of fear in the mind as to render people unable to function properly. If most people in Israel ascribe to my boss's mode of thinking, then terrorism really doesn't work all that well over there...

That said, it's probably much more difficult to impose terror on a people who are so used to getting fucked with.
