I dislike Paris Hilton, but I still don't understand being upset about someone else's sex life.
Why do you people care if she's promiscuous or not? Making a sextape with her boyfriend isn't indicative of someone who has multiple one night stands, and even if it were, why is it awful to potentially change your mind about it?
Most of it seems to stem from jealousy. She is wealthy without having to work for any of it at all and she seems wholly "unworthy" (whatever that means) to possess that wealth. She is basically the American equivelant to a princess (or could have been) but princesses are not promiscuous. So maybe people were looking for a role model, somebody their daughters to look up to, or maybe people were envious of her fortuitous circumstances. Who knows...
I will openly admit to being envious of her money. But I don't give a goddamn about who she does or does not fuck, and I don't understand why people do. I'm not a big fan of her television shows either, but that's why I don't watch them.
I'm just saying that as a member of an "American Institution" that some people will hold her to a higher standard. They probably saw her as an opprotune role model and thus assigned her, most likely unconsciously, a list of moral standards that she would have to uphold lest they would cast her out and despise her.
I personally don't care... but i do think it is amusing to an extent.
I agree with you. I didn't make that clear, sorry. You make a good point about the idea and role we have for "princesses."
