As we all know freedom of speech aka the 1st amendment, does not hold any power in privately held areas, while any stopping or erasing of another persons speech IS censorship,it is very clear that it is the prerogative of private group owners to censor as they see fit. To think it is weird that FOX, The Elks or even SG would allow every and all spouting in their private space is ridiculous.Just like I don't allow racist sentiment in my house, you have a freedom to say what you want, but the courts are clear on this subject, you do not have any right in private areas.

The sad thing is, that even if this was an abuse of power by a huge media mogul who has tendrils all over congress, and congress in turn is looking to censor and infringe on people's freedoms, after the initial "Oh NO!" everyone will go back to wondering why we haven't seen Katie and Tom's Baby yet.

So, don't bother to attribute to reason, or incompetence, or Evil, or kissing ass what you can chalk up to the apathy of the masses. wink

You know, you are absolutely right.

Where are the pictures of TomKat's baby?

If you guys get a room make sure to put it on chat cam! wink shocked

I don't think they can be in a room together.

There are rumours that FTR might actually be Seans not-so mild mannered news reporter alter ego eeek

You can't tell them apart because FTR never wears the gold tuxedo. And he can't fly, or stop bullets or anything.

Freedom of Speech does not apply to posting on SuicideGirls MySpace. We are a private club and may remove you as a member of our club for any number of idiotic statements, including but not limited to: sexist statements, racist statements, conspiracy theories, hurtful remarks, threats of violence, demands upon the staff or members, delibrate lieing, attacks upon the staff, just good old fashioned idiocy.

If you think this rule in some way infringes upon your liberties or freedom of expression I suggest you read On Liberty by John Stuart Mill (1806 - 1873), a critically important exploration on the ethics of tolerating opinions that you find repugnant and what a private citizen is obligated to do in the face of speech they disagree with. Mr. Mill suggests that private publications and people may not use the law to surpress other's opinions but they have no obligation to promote or associate with people who hold those opinions. Mill differentiates between not helping others find opinions of which you disapprove (which he thinks is acceptable) and actively working to prevent them from accessing those opinions in other publications, mediums or forums (which he condemns).
