Palin Quits Governorship

Sarah Palin just announced she would resign as governor at the end of the month.

America loves a quitter, so this could go over well.

Palin running for President would be one of the saddest and funniest things ever.

I will leave the United States.

I really think a Playboy spread would have been a better way to drum up some press. Or at least a sex tape. She needs a new campaign manager, obviously.

"Here's the new angle, Sarah: You quit!"

So she can't be governor and run for president at the same time......cuz you know, multitasking very difficult situations never falls under the responsibility of President.....

Is it really bad that I'd love to see a Playboy spread of her?

I'm scared. This reminds me of the first Batman movie, where The Joker told people he was going to give them free money, then ended up gassing the entire city.

Something bad will come of this.

I recommend visiting the Sarah Palin Facebook page. Half are very upset and the other half think it's the greatest move ever. Serious delusion happening.

Personally, I think part of this decision stems from the fact that her re-election was not a certanty in Alaska. Ever since she ran for Vice-President she's become a lightening rod for criticism, even amongst members of her own party. If she had run, and lost, it would have utterly destroyed her chances to run for President in 2012. Quitting right now, gives her the chance to work on her image, and present herself as someone who nobly bowed out for the good of the state. Her quitting also gives Sean Parnell the aura of being the incumbant in 2010, which makes his own election a bit more likely.
Interestingly enough, although I know little of the man, Sean Parnell actually tapped my former principal to be his chief of staff following his election as Lt. Governor, back when I was still teaching in Alaska. My old boss has since quit, as he found out he didn;t enjoy politics at all, but its still an interesting situation.

Boy, she was certainly as inarticulate and abstruse as ever in explaining the reasons behind her decision to quit.

Well, after the fierce kerfluffle over the way she brazenly disrespected Old Glory in her latest cheesecake photo in Runner's World Magazine...

...she really had no other choice.

Truly, one of the best of times, worst of times kind of moments. On the minus side, we potentially see one of the two political parties of this nation nominate her. On the plus side, seeing Barack figuratively curb-stomp the poor woman in a debate would be so very, very awesome.

She set the table well for whatever is coming. The entire speech was about being attacked. So, when the shoe drops, her supporters will rail against the injustice. "First they forced her out and now they are going after her carcass?"

Something like that. The message was, "I'm a victim." Something is coming.

It's times like these that I really miss stockula.

She did something she had no business. Period. I'm going to lean back in my recliner and wait for it to come out and make me smile.
