Aww.
I'm so bummed.
He seemed like sucha great, respecatable, amiable man.
Of course he is one of the greatest interviewers I've
ever read, in quite a nice understated way.
Yes, he was a friend to us all in that way.

Terrible news. His intelligence, charm and thoughtfulness were clearly reflected in all his interviews. They were leaps and bounds better than most 'mainstream' press. He will be missed.

This makes me really, really sad. I always enjoyed the rapport he established with his interviewees -- he struck me as continuously thoughtful, well-read, and caring. His loss will have an incredible impact on this community.

My best wishes for his family and loved ones. He seemed like a helluva great guy.

I simply cannot believe this. My God.

Daniel was an important part of SG. I would hope that SG publishes a retrospective of his interviews.

God bless, Daniel. You were loved and admired!

I am so sad to read this....Dan was the man, in my book. I loved his style and felt like he was somewhat of lead to follow in his own right...I will miss his interviews dearly and my thoughts go out to his nearest and dearest. He really set a standard...... frown frown frown

Jeezis. How horrible, I loved reading everything of his, both here and in the many magazines in which his material was published.

RIP, you'll be missed.
