In bittersweet news, Ministry has announced that the band is currently working on its final album, tentatively titled The Last Sucker, a follow up to the recent Rio Grande Blood and 2004’s Houses of the Mole. This album will feature guitarist Sin (Society 1, Revolting Cocks and Snow Black) and is determined to be a politically charged stance against the Bush Administration. Ministry's finale promises to be heavy and skull shattering.
The album should be finished May 1st with a release in September 2007.
In other news, Al Jourgenson has stated that after completion of the album he hopes to devote more time to his new record label, 13th Planet Records.
Wow, after all these years eh? Ministry is one of the few bands I've discovered on my own that most other kids my age didn't know jack shit about and it pleases me to know that Ministry never has and never will be a "trendy band" that becomes popular with the teens as the new it thing. I'm a bit disappointed that Mindless Self Indulgence is suddenly mainstream as hell. The other day I saw a young girl about 15 or 16 wearing a home made MSI shirt and this chick didn't even look like the type and then I think of the wonderful song....You'll Rebel to Anything (As Long As It's Not Challenging) where they basically make fun of the ridiculous amount of fans they have accumulated over the years. Anyway, like I said at least Ministry isn't giving themselves the opportunity to sell out and become vastly popular among young "punks" the world over and that makes me proud to be a Ministry fan. Good Luck Al and the rest of the mates of Ministry....enjoy your early retirement.

I heard about this.
Al said "everyone seems to think I write real shitty music when a Democrat's in office. So we'll do that one, and then me and George Bush go riding off hand-in-hand, into the sunset."
although it is refreshing to see a possible end to the bush regime which has fueled ministry for years. . . i suspect al will find something else to piss him off in coming years . . . kinda like batman coming back out of retirement . . . older meaner smarter and much more brutal . . .
i think 'ol Al needs to take a break anyway. when i saw them live about 2 years ago, he went SInatra-style and had the lyrics to some of the songs he was performing taped down to the stage where he could see them while he was performing. and it was songs like "new world order"...a song i would think he could have easily memorized the lyrics by now
that being said, it was a fucking awesome show he had a squeeze bottle full of something red, and i assumed it was some kind of fruit juice. at one point he squeezed out the liquid onto those of us that were up front, and it turned out he was drinking a squeeze bottle full of sangria at least that's what it smelled like to me...
Are you talking about the stones or ministry? Or is it a joke about George the 1st?

Al is a real American Hero..The last 2 albums were really brutal , as those (myself included) have witnessed live..To say they aren't relevent ; usually made by people who aren't putting out albums or art themselves , is irrelevent . They continue to put out thought provoking , in your face music . It's not for everyone , but just like Tool , have gotten better throughout the years . He'll still be putting out a Revolting Cocks album and probably more under a psudonym . Who needs mainstream music anyway ?..Ministry is the shit .

Ministry. They have been Anti-Bush forever, and put out Anti-Bush records in 1992, 2004, and 2006. The latter two directed at Dub-Ya. The only non-Anti-Bush album released during a Bush Administration was released in 2003.
So...what I'm trying to say is I don't see how they are "late to be jumping on the bandwagon".
Didn't they release the same song twice or something.
An anti-bush album that will be released with, at most, a year left of a lame duck administration seems kinda dumb and, even keeping in mind their earlier tracks -- not albums, it seems to be flogging a dead horse.
They have put out alot of material in the last 3 or 4 years... I wonder if he's going to go teach History finally. Ha! He should publicize that - I'd transfer for a semester!
