Yeah, but anyone anywhere on the internet can take that poll, and as we all know, internet polls are almost totally worthless.

I know. But it was kind of neat anyway.

Yeah. What's interesting to me is that that poll is there at all. There seems to be a tremendous amount of world attention placed on our Democratic primary this year -- more attention than I've ever seen given toward any American primary.

I think that might be because, if we let the Republicans walk away with another presidency, the rest of the world is going to just give us up as idiots.

That's so true. I got an email for a friend in the Netherlands urging me to vote for Obama. surreal

Her willingness to essentially endorse John McCain over another democrat is additional proof of her presidential campaign being about her own voracious ambition at all costs, and demonstrates she has no true intentions of representing voting democrats or the democratic party.

She should be asked to resign her position as a democrat, never mind relinquishing her candidacy.

She has just paddled her little canoe off into the Atlantic to wait for Ann Coulter on the island of Joe Lieberman...

And I still want someone to grill her about this man

Instead of presenting herself as the better candidate and emphasizing her clear vision for the country...

The problem is, the vast majority of Americans are bored stiff by "clear visions for the country" and actual policy debates. Unfortunate, but true.

It is tiring being the only Hillary supporter on all of SG (and at this point I am using "supporter" fairly loosely since her campaign has fucked up in every conceivable way) but it's delusional to think that the bulk of Obama's support is coming from people who care about someone who has a "clear vision for the country". Yes, I KNOW there are people who are excited by Obama's policies and not his persona, but they are not the majority. They just aren't. Present company excluded, naturally.

If you want to keep calling Clinton's campaign tactics Republican, fine, but so is telling volunteers to avoid policy discussions and focus on "values". The difference is, the Obama campaign was smart and took a page from the Republican playbook that is actually working with Democrats, but that doesn't mean it's an fantastic page to be on.

FearTheReaper said:
At this point, she is literally running against change and hope.

Exactly. What a fucking retarded thing to have to be running against. How do you have a debate on hope and change? You can't. But that's how the entire campaign has been framed now. She probably would have done better to just get out early, but now that she's here, she's doing the only things left as campaign options, because talking about the issues is clearly going to be pointless with people who are running a value-based campaign, and winning voters that way.

As for the fragmenting of the Democratic party, how is this news? So it was, has been, and shall ever be. In every election ever. This is our cross to bear. This is why we keep losing. But its not unique to Hillary.

Whats funny about her attacking him over not holding a hearing on Afghanistan, is that its in Asia not Europe. Not his responsibility. Way to know your geography Hillary.

Not worthless, despite the examples. This is probably the last White House run we'll see where old-style pollers will be able to make accurate predictions based only on land-line phone calls.

If the Clintons continue dividing the party, what'll be left to put either candidate in the White House?

If anyone thought that Hillary's campaign had any credibility left this should put that to bed. It is disappointing that what Hilary learned from Bill was how to act like an Arkansas Democrat and not be a leader of the Democrat party, Is there any wonder why I switched to be an independent a long, long time again.

Viva Obama! '08

Yesterday, the Clinton camp also put out a new ad, attacking Obama because he has not held a hearing on Afghanistan since taking over as the head of the Senate Subcommittee on European Affairs.

Does it matter that Afghanistan is in Asia, not Europe?

Just curious.

But the full foreign relations committee, under the guidance of Senator Joe Biden, has held several hearings on Afghanistan that covered NATO's role there. It's not as if the foreign relations committee did nothing on Afghanistan because Obama did not take on the mission. Also, as happens with many committees, the chair of the full committee reserves the right to handle the big issues him- or herself, and Afghanistan counts as a big issue.

Clinton ought to be careful about hurling stones in this area. As she always tells campaign crowds, she is a member of the Senate armed services committee. In February the committee held two hearings on Afghanistan. On February 8, it focused on appropriations for U.S. military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates was a witness. Eight days later, the committee zeroed in on U.S. strategy in Afghanistan, holding a two-part hearing examining recent reports on Afghanistan. Key witnesses included senior officials from the State Department and the Pentagon responsible for the administration's Afghanistan policy.

Clinton attended neither of these hearings. She was on the campaign trail
