Wow, this could use some clarification, links, or possibly some coherence. It may just be me, but I have no idea who Bob Corker or Harold Ford, Jr. are, what they did in their race, or how Bill Clinton took a page from their playbook.

In the Tennessee Senate race of 2006, Republican Bob Corker ran ads that were blatantly pointing out Ford was a black man. One even made sure to highlight the fact that Ford had engaged in sex with a white woman. The ads swung the race and Corker won.
