Duane Chapman is a shitbag of the highest caliber and if you can't differentiate between a real hero and a slimy opportunist you are probably either remarkably stupid or also a shitbag.
Fuck him, fuck him in his dirty racist shitbag ass.

Stop beating around the bush. What do you really think of Dog?

I'd sell him to Michael Vick. I like him that much.

My thoughts EXACTLY, the one brute Dog that Michael Vick didn't get his hands on, and should have. What an IDIOT. Learn to fucking EVOLVE for pete's sake. Evolve already, Brah! You fake Hawaiian asshole, he'd better be doing something good over there or the State would dump his ass in the drink.

Can't say I'm too surprised, offended, or shocked to hear Dog would have racist sentiments. Also can't say I care much what an ex-con bounty hunter has to say about social commentary and racial politics. I really hate to say it that way, but he was already pretty much written off in my book as not being an intellectual heavyweight or socially significant BEFORE this happened.

As for the whole "nigger/nigga" thing, I honestly can't say it generates any solidarity or unity, andif that was the goal there ae a lot better words to choose. Usually when you ask somebody why they continue using the word despite its history they'll use this defense which only shows hey haven't put much thought into it. "Niggas" use that word everyday and it doesn't do anything to stop gang violence or Black-on-Black crime. The real reason people use it is because their grandparents and their parents used it and have gotten used to hearing it and being called that. It's cultural stagnation and a lack of intellectual insight that foster its continued use and acceptance. I'm having a hard time imagining Frederick Douglas, W.E.B. Dubois, Martin Luther King or Malcolm X using it casually in conversation so at some point education has to change how you see and define yourself.

At the same time, context is everything so for the people who do choose to use it, whether or not they accept someone else using it or if they take it as "a term of endearment" depends on how it's used and by whom. If you want to talk the talk you have to walk the walk. You can't have just anybody throwing the word around like it carries no consequence.

When, exactly, did A&E become an governmental entity?

Yes, only the government is bound legally to not abridge speach, but it might be nice if individuals (of their own accord) paid lip service to it occasionally. Not being legally bound to do something doesn't mean it can't still be the right thing to do.

This.

What happened to "uhuru?" That always seemed like the perfect one. Not something to call each other, of course, but it's to the point and hard for whites to appropriate. Seeing a white dude in FUBU is goofy enough. Have him start hollerin' "UHURU?" That would be beyond the pale LOLPUN.

Except that his public image has everything to do with his job as a celebrity. No one's saying he can't keep bounty hunting, but A&E doesn't have to make a show about a racist bounty hunter, and probably shouldn't.

Lawmakers Propose Resolution Banning N-Word In LA

November 7, 2007 11:56 a.m. EST

Kris Alingod - AHN News Writer

Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - A resolution has just been proposed in the second largest American city to discourage the use of the N-word. The non-binding resolution was introduced by City Councilman Bernard Parks, who is African American and a former city police chief.

Parks' measure describes the N-word as a slur that "connotes a lazy person with no self-respect or regard for family, does not speak proper English and has childlike qualities."

The proposal, which will be voted on by the City Council on Friday, also calls on residents "to encourage all others whom they may encounter in their daily routine to cease from using the word."

The introduction of the resolution comes in the midst of recent noose-hanging incidents across the country. The most recent one involved the head of a black mannequin hanging from a noose outside a home in New York. A piece of paper on the mannequin had the "N-word" written on it.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has recorded as many as 50 suspected hate crimes involving nooses. It says the increase is partly due to the coverage of the Jena 6, when six black teenagers were accused of physically abusing a white classmate in Jena, Louisiana more than a year ago.

A similar resolution was passed in New York City a year ago after the racial slur was used by former Seinfeld actor Michael at a Los Angeles nightclub.

So, not really a ban. Just a suggestion.

Even though it's a non-binding resolution or whatever, I just see this as launching the word to some new super status.

At least it will give the rap community fuel for more songs.

"I thought that I was cool enough in the black world to be able to use that word as a brother to a brother. I'm not. I didn't really know until three or four days ago what that meant to black people."

"In other words, my whole life I've been called a half-breed, a convict, king of the trailer trash, this and that...so when I stood there and said, 'I kind of know what you feel like, because I've been there, too,' that I felt that I could embrace and like, as brothers...say the word."

"I now learned I'm not black at all, and I never did it out of hate," Chapman continued. "This sounds so stupid. I always did it out of love. Other white guys would be like, 'Boy, who does Dog think he is? Dog can say that.' And black guys would be with me and walk with me and respect me.

"So, I went too far with that."

The word BAN is being used. On the radio, on the tv news, in the papers. A suggestion? People do not need to vote "non-binding resolutions" on mere suggestions regarding words.

When a part of the government talks about banning words, then says it is just a suggestion, non-binding or whatever - that is the time to get worried.

Will they give non-binding bans on books that use the"N-word" next?

Where have you heard that there would be any sort of actual ban? New York did the same thing six months ago.

In oither words, when there is TALK of banning words by any government related people, the rest of us should start to worry. If no one cares about a SUGGESTION to ban a word, what is to stop them from taking it to another level?
