Aw man. The Highwayman was the best, 'cos it had that Australian guy from those Energizer commercials! OI!

and of course that brings us to macguyver

The new-ish series with Bruce Campbell, Burn Notice, has a serious MacGuyver feel to it. :

eep! Repressed memories resurface....
K.A.R.R. - Knight Automated Roving Robot, if I recall
Sounds almost Transformerish already.
Knight Rider shouldn`t be remade. I didn`t (in my opinion) work with Battlestar Galactica, and it won`t work with Knight Rider.

for years I've had this memory of some kid in a red track jacket at a fair... hot coffee is spilled on him accidentally, and he turns into a sports car. I thought I was insane.

If they wanted to do a show with "Transformers-type" effects in it there's a lot of material out there to choose from. I mean, you could be totally crazy and try this thing called ORIGINAL WRITING. But, if you had to pull from the past, what about re-making the First Robotech War? If it was done right it could be very entertaining.

That would definitely be preferable to anything that (further) glorified cars.
(Though cars, as an idea, are more sensible than mecha; it's the execution of the idea that's bad.)

A-Team was clearly the best 80's action show. Manimal was huge with my friends and I but I think it was cancelled pretty early on.

As far as Airwolf, I can't say I ever watched an episode but I recall thinking the theme was the coolest thing ever... and what do you know, it really holds up.

We can all agree, the goatee is truly the crutch of the ugly man.

Hey!!! I'm not THAT ugly. At least my wife doesn't think so. Honey....??
Besides, when I shave my goatee, my lips take up 3/4 of my face.

Remake something cool..... oh wait...... they already did, I think it's called Battlestar Galactica. Try not fucking things up and you might profit more tv companies smile

Well, the original Galactica was so bad, it was hard to screw up the new show. But after the Bob Dylan episode, I will have to say that I've pretty much lost interest.

But really, let's run down the list of Sci-Fi Channel's "original" series: Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who (borrowed from the BBC, no less), Flash Gordon, and now, handed-down from its parent network, Bionic Woman. Not to mention that CBS has just launched a "good vampire" series called Moonlight that seems to have nearly the same premise as Angel.

I think it's safe to say that TV execs have run out of ideas and we would all probably be better off if we just stopped watching this bullshit.

i need to take the opportunity to say that the hands down funniest thing i've EVER seen on video tape is this:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0279887/

(For you LAers, it's free with a rental at Cinefile.)

Admittedly, I was high when I watched it. Years ago, before I realized that pot gave me paranoias. Had to stop drugs that aren't prescribed by a licensed physician. But I digress.

"Jeckyl and Hyde: the Musical." It's Hasselhoff in a "serious" broadway musical roll. It's a videotape of a live performance, complete with tepid audience response, and the Hoff aiming for the rafters. Shitty acting? Check. Shitty music? Check. Hyperbolic Self indulgence? Check.

Best thing...after the show he comes out and actually thanks the audience for taking him seriously.

Seriously...tears. Literally laughed 'til I cried.

Sorry. Was that mean?
