So they could tour as The Hammer Of The Gods.
I'd pay a lot of money to see them.

I followed the Page/Plant tour for three amazing shows; I fucking wept like a little girl at the first one. But despite his genes, Jason Bonham is a shitty soulless drummer, and I don't think I can deal with seeing them suck. Please let them get someone else.

No way in hell they tour under the name Led Zeppelin, but I'd be cool with a mini tour or something. And if they sound decent (pretty big "if"), they could pull off a major tour. And make serious bank.

Yeah, that would work I guess. Page/Plant/Jones would work fine. Or maybe some sort of variation of their original name. Like Copper Dirigible. I could see that name up in lights. Or not.

they all gave the green light to a tour if it all does well
and they don't all fall out.

Italics are my emphasis.

I hope they come to Australia if they do make it through (and I hope their not really badly messed up parodies of their former selves like so many other reunited old timers out their)!

i'd go

i don't care if its not the original drummer, to see it played live buy those still alive who wrote it is good enough for me

if i worried about original line ups etc etc i'd never have seen half the bands i'd seen.

After Bonzo's Death, when they considered doing something more, Bill Bruford was one of those considered.

And Jason really doesn't (from the limited stuff I've heard) didn't inherit any of the Soul of his dad.

After this thread I pulled out an old VHS of the Live Aid set, and Phil Collins really wasn't a good choice.

Who does everyone think should do it, IF htere is a reunion.

Grohl or Bruford would be fair choices IMO.

What if Pink floyd had disbanded after Barrett's departure?

Santana was constantly morphing, too. What about the Rolling Stones? I can see it. "Well, Brian's dead. Let's all get day jobs. We can do nothing worthwhile musicially without all our bandmates."

There are still three VERY talented musicians alive who've had some serious chemistry (no pun intended, but I got a chuckle out of it anyway) over the years. Why the fuck shouldn't they jam together?

There is a rather large difference between "constantly morphing" and "sitting around, not playing together for over a quarter century, then getting back together to replay the greatest hits"

The bands you mentioned kept playing after losing members, LZ didn't.

Good point. and I was admittedly glad at the time that they didn't. But I still see no reason 3 musicians who played together so much should not do so again if they want.

I'd love to get together with men and women from bands I've played with (and god help anyone who tells me I shouldn't) and I don't see why page, Plant & Jones being more talented than me or having been in a blockbustingly famous band should be reason not to make music together. If they want to do it, I think they should.

I would, for some reason, respect for the Dead, perhaps, prefer it be under a different name, though.

Maybe it's the musician in me that makes me think people should play any music they feel inspired to with anyone they feel inspired with.

I'll sort of believe it when it is offically announced.

Then I'll believe it when it really happens.

And when they tour I'll pay the money.

All the naysayers are, as usual, completely correct. Robert Plant shot down the reunion rumors at a recent press conference, saying he hadn't even heard about the rumor.

Blabbermouth gave it a quick little blurb.

Thanks for crushing dreams YET AGAIN Bob.

Something like their original name, huh?

Let's see. A Zeppelin is light - it glides through the air.

Led (Lead) is a heavy metal.

Maybe something with the same feel . . .

Ha! And the rumors proved all too real... it's been confirmed that Led Zeppelin are indeed reforming for one show on November 26 at the O2 Arena and will be joined by diverse acts such as Foreigner and Pete Townshend. Read all about it here. Other than the confirmed date, though, the other details are pretty much the same as in my original piece.

There goes artistic integrity. One of the few bands who did the right thing-disbanded for the right reasons and refused to buckle under money pressure. Like all of the others, though, I guess the older you get the more the money takes the fore.

Is that why I keep hearing their music in a car commercial?
